Random observations

People don’t touch their water bottle with their lips when drinking. They lean back, open their mouth, and poor generously and with good aim, using both hands. Hygienic reasons?

People look down or away, shaking their heads indecisively, when signaling “yes”. I already knew this, but still find myself asking “Yes? You agree?”

People burp whenever, wherever, without taking notice or excusing themselves, even people in official offices and all. Puzzling! Of course I will not be following their example very soon, but I’m happily joining in with my regular hiccups.

People do also pick their noses in ANY SITUATION. Not that there’s anything wrong with cleaning a little in this dust paradise.

Which brings us over to: dirt in crazy places. I actually have to soap up my belly, my knees and my ears, the dust gets everywhere, it’s amazing! Actually quite like it, now a shower is so much more appreciated.

I am understood sooo much better when speaking English with a heavy Norwegian accent, than when speaking my fluent English/American one. So now I’m telling them “Nårrvejj” instead of a soft “Norway”.
